Role Description The UK Counselor (Lagos) role is a full-time, on-site position based in Ikeja. The counselor will guide prospective students through UK study options, admission requirements, and visa processes, providing accurate information on universities, courses, and funding opportunities. Daily tasks include conducting counseling sessions, responding to inquiries via phone, email, and in person, and assisting students in preparing application and visa documents. The role also involves maintaining detailed records of student cases, coordinating with internal visa and admissions teams, and following up with students to ensure timely completion of each step. The counselor will support outreach activities, such as information sessions and school visits, to promote UK study opportunities and the company’s services.
Qualifications

  • Strong counseling and advisory skills, with the ability to clearly explain UK study pathways, admission processes, and visa requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including active listening, professional email and phone etiquette, and confident in-person interaction.
  • Solid organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple student cases, track documentation, and meet application and visa deadlines.
  • Attention to detail in reviewing forms, documents, and student information to ensure accuracy and compliance with UK institutional and visa standards.
  • Proficiency with basic office software and digital tools (e.g., spreadsheets, word processing, email platforms, and CRM or student management systems).
  • Customer service mindset, with a focus on empathy, problem-solving, and delivering clear, practical guidance to diverse student populations.
  • Knowledge of UK higher education systems and visa procedures, or strong willingness and ability to learn these quickly.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Education, Social Sciences, Business, International Relations) or equivalent experience in student counseling or study abroad advisory.
  • Ability to work on-site in Ikeja, collaborate with colleagues, and adapt to a dynamic, target-driven environment.
