Trailer mechanic Jobs in Mkondeni at Dhoda Group
We are currently seeking experienced Trailer Mechanics to join our maintenance team. The successful candidates will be responsible for the inspection, servicing, repair, and maintenance of trailers to ensure they remain roadworthy, safe, and operational at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and servicing on trailers
- Diagnose and repair faults on trailer suspension, axles, braking systems, and running gear
- Conduct inspections to identify wear, damage, and maintenance requirements
- Repair and replace trailer components as required
- Service and maintain air brake systems
- Conduct preventative maintenance to minimize breakdowns and downtime
- Ensure trailers comply with safety and roadworthiness standards
- Complete job cards and maintenance records accurately
- Report major defects and repair requirements to management
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Assist with breakdown repairs when required
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Trailer Mechanic
- Experience working with Henred trailers is essential
- Strong knowledge of trailer axles, suspension systems, braking systems, hubs, bearings, and running gear
- Ability to diagnose and repair trailer-related mechanical faults
- Experience with air brake systems and trailer maintenance procedures
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
- Must be reliable, diligent, and safety-conscious
- Valid driver’s licence will be advantageous
- Relevant mechanical qualifications will be advantageous
