Minimum Qualifications
- Have NQF 4 (National Senior Certificate or Grade 12 or National Senior Certificate for Adults)
Requirements
- Have a clear security screening record.
- Be medically fit to work in the specific business area.
- Be able to schedule and prioritise work.
- Be able to plan and organise work.
- Be analytical with attention to detail.
- Be able to read and write.
- Have at least 1 years’ experience in an engineering working environment.
- Have a valid Driver’s license
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in performing: Conducting daily visual checks on Telephone Exchanges. Repairing of faulty telephone lines Surface and Underground. Testing and repairing of 2 meg Fibre links. Installation of new Telephone lines Surface and Underground. Monthly checks and Testing of Exchange UPS backup power. Monthly testing of Exchange Generators.
- Perform Low risk tasks unsupervised.
- Drive to areas where work is required.
- Complete 5-minute Risk assessment.
- Ensure that prompt action is given to sub-standard activities.
- Ensure that accurate information (e.g., records, reports and documentation) is filed, captured, and updated.
- Ensure that maintenance schedules are adhered to PRAGMA.
Job Purpose
- Assist Telecommunication Artisan and Technician to Install, repair and maintain all Telecommunication Equipment Surface and Underground.
