Technician Assistant Jobs in Plumstead at Iron Curtain Security
Iron Curtain Security is looking for a dependable and hardworking Technical Assistant to support our senior technician with the installation, maintenance, and servicing of electronic security systems.
This role is suited to someone technically minded who has some experience in the security industry and is eager to grow within the field. Proven experience in electronic security systems will be advantageous but is not essential for the right candidate.
Minimum Requirements
- South African citizen only
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
- PSIRA Registration preferred (minimum Grade C advantageous)
- Must reside within a 15km radius of Plumstead (maximum 20–25 minute commute)
- Must be willing to undergo criminal background and reference checks
- Sober habits and professional conduct essential
- Physically fit and comfortable working on ladders, in ceilings, and outdoors
- Must be reliable, punctual, and willing to learn
- No moonlighting or private work permitted
Experience Advantageous
Experience or exposure in any of the following will be beneficial:
- CCTV Systems (Hikvision & Dahua)
- Alarm Systems
- Access Control
- Gate Motors & Automation
- Electric Fencing
- Network Cabling
- Basic fault finding and use of tools
Duties Will Include
- Assisting with installations and maintenance
- Carrying equipment and preparing cable runs
- Assisting with fault finding and repairs
- Keeping vehicles, tools, and work areas organised
- Supporting the lead technician on-site
- Communicating professionally with clients when required
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday: 07:00 – 17:00
- Occasional Saturdays when required
