Role Summary
We are seeking a motivated Junior Technical Engineer to join our team in a role that balances on-site field experience with long-term technical career growth. This is a Durban-based position (Kloof) with intermittent on-site requirements in Pietermaritzburg.
Initially, you will be based on-site to shadow the installation team, gain an in-depth understanding of the system architecture, and ensure implementation aligns with our design standards. Following the completion of the installation phase, the role will transition into a permanent technical support and system maintenance position under a long-term service agreement. This is a "growth role" designed for an individual looking to evolve into a Senior CCTV and Network Systems Engineer or related.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation Oversight: Act as the primary on-site technical observer, shadowing implementation partners to learn the specific system architecture.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor the installation process to ensure all work meets Zilotech’s quality standards and design specifications.
- Technical Reporting: Provide detailed progress updates and technical feedback to the Senior Engineer.
- System Maintenance: Transition into providing ongoing technical support, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance post-installation.
- Professional Development: Actively engage in training and hands-on learning to advance toward senior engineering competencies.
