Technical Sales Representative (Internal)
Main Purpose of the Role:
The Technical Internal Sales Representative is responsible for providing technical product information and support to customers, assisting with quotations, and driving sales growth. The role requires both technical knowledge and sales expertise to meet customer needs, manage internal processes, and collaborate with other teams to ensure a seamless customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
·Customer Engagement: Respond to incoming customer inquiries, both technical and non-technical, by providing accurate product information, solutions, and advice.
· Quotations & Order Processing: Prepare and submit accurate quotations based on customer specifications. Process customer orders, ensuring all details are correct for timely delivery and accurate invoicing.
·Technical Support: Provide technical guidance and support to customers regarding product specifications, applications, installation, and troubleshooting of pneumatic systems. Interpret part numbers and technical specifications
·Sales Opportunity Identification: Proactively identify and pursue new sales opportunities, including upselling or cross-selling related products.
·Internal Collaboration: Work closely with the purchasing teams to ensure the timely availability of products, resolving any issues related to orders or deliveries.
·Product Knowledge Maintenance: Stay up to date on product knowledge, new offerings, and technical developments. Provide internal teams with updates on new product features or enhancements.
·Sales Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, quotations, orders, and sales metrics. Regularly report on sales performance and follow up on open opportunities.
· Customer Follow-up & Relationship Management: Follow up on customer orders, ensuring satisfaction and addressing any post-sale concerns. Foster long-term customer relationships to encourage repeat business.
· Follow-up on Outstanding Quotations: Actively follow up on quotations that haven’t been converted to sales, identifying reasons for delays and working to regain the sale.
· Sales & Technical Enquiries via WhatsApp: Assist customers with both sales and technical inquiries via the company’s WhatsApp line, ensuring timely and effective responses.
· General Task Assistance: Assist with any other tasks as required by the team or management, contributing to the overall success of the sales department.
· Annual Stock Take Support: Assist with the annual stock take, ensuring accurate product counts and reporting any discrepancies.
Experience & Qualifications:
Minimum Qualification: National Senior Certificate (Grade 12).
Pneumatic Knowledge: Strong understanding of pneumatic products, systems, and applications. Ability to communicate complex technical information related to pneumatics to customers.
Valid Code B drivers’ licence.
Computer Literacy: Intermediate MS Excel and Sage Pastel.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Self-driven with initiative and a deadline-driven mindset.
2 years Automation / Manufacturing Industry experience incl. Technical Product and Solutions knowledge
Remuneration:
· Industry, Qualification, and Experience Dependent
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: R15 000,00 – R20 000,00 per month
