Position: TECHNICAL OFFICER – RE-ADVERTISED – RIBUMED GLENWOOD
Key Performance Areas
- Ensure all maintenance duties to be fore filled.
- Prioritise work requests.
- Responsible for maintenance work in various fields.
- Complete all administration work related to maintenance and repairs.
- After‑hours standby and call‑out responsibilities.
- Assist in general maintenance requirements within reason.
- Maintain air‑conditioning systems.
- Generators and sprinklers: weekly tested and daily checks for leaks or abnormal conditions.
- Medical vacuums: daily checks ensuring pumps run with no leaks.
Competencies (The following will be advantageous)
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 Certificate
- National Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- Computer literate
- Ability to deal with staff within the hospital
- Valid driver’s licence
- Willingness to assume job ownership, work independently and apply principles of continuous improvement
Experience
- At least 3–5 years of hands‑on experience with air‑conditioning; experience with chiller systems is an advantage.
- Experience with in a hospital environment is an added advantage.
- Pride in quality workmanship and finishes.
- Sound knowledge of OHSA requirements.
