*Job Description: Wood Cladding Engineer*
*. Key Responsibilities*
*A. Technical & Design*
1. Review architectural and structural drawings to identify wood cladding scope.
2. Prepare detailed shop drawings including timber type, sections, fixing details, insulation, and joints.
3. Develop Bill of Materials BOM & Bill of Quantities BOQ for timber, accessories, and sub-structure.
4. Coordinate with MEP & Facade teams for service penetrations, lighting, and HVAC integration.
5. Specify appropriate timber materials: Natural Wood, WPC, HPL, Thermally Modified, Fire-Retardant.
6. Submit and get approval for material submittals, samples, and full-scale mock-ups.
*B. Site Execution & Supervision*
1. Verify site dimensions and setting out prior to installation.
2. Supervise installation of sub-frame systems: galvanized steel, aluminum, stainless steel.
3. Ensure proper installation of insulation, waterproofing membrane, and ventilated cavity.
4. Monitor fixing methods: Visible Fixing, Concealed Fixing, Clip/Rail Systems per spec.
5. Ensure timber treatments are applied: Fire Retardant, Anti-Termite, UV Protection, Sealers.
6. Conduct quality inspections using checklists and close out NCRs / Site Instructions.
7. Track progress, prepare daily/weekly reports, and review subcontractor monthly valuations.
*C. Quality, Safety & Compliance*
1. Ensure compliance with fire safety codes and Civil Defense requirements for facades.
2. Verify provision for expansion joints and timber movement tolerances.
3. Enforce HSE procedures for work at height, scaffolding, and handling of materials.
4. Manage snagging, de-snagging, and final handover documentation.
*3. Qualifications & Experience*
– *Education:* http://B.Sc. in Architectural, Civil Engineering, or Interior Design.
– *Experience:* 3-7 years in facade/cladding works, with 2+ years specific to wood/timber cladding.
– *Software:* AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, MS Office. Rhino + Grasshopper is a plus.
– *Technical Knowledge:* Timber species, fixing systems, ventilated facade principles, fire codes, moisture management.

3. Effective communication with consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
4. Time management and ability to meet project schedules and deadlin
