Role Description
The Senior Tax Manager will play a strategic leadership role within the South African tax practice. This full‑time, on‑site position is responsible for overseeing tax planning, tax compliance, and tax preparation for both corporate and individual clients.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing complex tax matters and providing high‑level tax advisory services
- Ensuring full compliance with South African tax laws and regulations
- Developing and implementing tax‑efficient strategies to enhance client outcomes
- Reviewing tax computations, opinions, and submissions
- Managing and strengthening client relationships to ensure exceptional service delivery
- Supervising, coaching, and mentoring junior and intermediate team members
- Remaining up to date with relevant tax legislation, SARS developments, and international tax trends
- Supporting business development initiatives and contributing to the growth of the tax practice
Qualifications
- Expertise in Tax Planning, Tax Compliance, and Tax Preparation
- Strong technical proficiency in Tax Law and general tax regulatory frameworks
- Advanced analytical and problem‑solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership abilities
- Proven experience managing and mentoring teams within a tax advisory environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field
- H(Dip) in Taxation (required or strongly advantageous — depending on your preference)
- Professional certification such as CA(SA) or CPA is an advantage
- Experience working within a global or multicultural professional environment is beneficial
