UN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security. Placing women’s rights at the centre of its efforts, UN Women is mandated to lead and co-ordinate United Nations system efforts to ensure that commitments on gender equality and gender mainstreaming are translated into action. It is also mandated to provide strong and coherent leadership in support of Member States’ priorities and efforts, building effective partnerships with civil society and other relevant actors. In line with the Tanzania’s national priorities, UN Women’s strategic Plan 2022-2026 lays out the agency’s unique role and comparative advantage in supporting national stakeholders in advancing gender equality and the empowerment of women by strengthening women’s leadership and participation in political and governance systems, gender statistics, implementation of global gender norms and standards, ending violence against women and girls, and women’s economic empowerment.

Task description

  • Updating and converting existing documents from old templates to new e-filling standardized templates. This role must ensure confidentiality, consistency, accuracy, and alignment with current organizational standards and guidelines. 2. Each volunteer will be assigned with certain number of documents which he or she will have to complete as per the agreed schedule. 3. Each volunteer will have to attend the assignment induction on what is the expected output from the task at the Country Office. 4. Maintain data in relation to HR ensuring full compliance with UN Women rules, regulations, and HR policies and guidelines 5. Maintain and update internal databases and files on HR matters in a confidential and secure manner, ensuring data integrity and accessibility Volunteers will be asked to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) when sensitive documents or information are shared. Through this assignment, online volunteers will gain hands-on experience in document formatting and standardization, confidential records management, and HR administrative processes within an international development organization. They will enhance their attention to detail, organizational skills, and understanding of professional standards while learning how UN Women Tanzania manages sensitive information in line with institutional policies and guidelines.

Assignment requirements

Required Experience

 University degree (Bachelor’s degree) in human resources management, sociology, business administration and public administration or any relevant field.  At least one to three years of professional experience  Computer skills (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, social media, and others).  Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) and spreadsheet and database packages.  Experience in the use of a modern web-based ERP System, preferably Oracle Cloud or Quantum is desirable.  Experience in UN system HR administration is desirable. Other (Desired or Mandatory) required technical knowledge:  Good oral and written skills; good drafting, formulation, reporting skills;  Strong applied knowledge of HR administration, processes and policies, including the UN Staff Regulations and Rules  Ability to independently administer and execute HR processes and transactions, exercising judgment in selecting appropriate courses of action  Ability to handle information of a confidential nature with discretion and integrity  Strong IT skills, including proficiency in ERP systems (preferably Oracle Cloud/Quantum)  Strong interpersonal and client-service orientation skills  Excellent interpersonal skills;  Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment; ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national personnel;  Sound security awareness;
