We are looking for hands-on Support Technician’s to install, maintain and repair Point of Sale (POS) and IT equipment across multiple customer sites in Gauteng. This is a field-based role with daily travel—ideal for someone who enjoys troubleshooting on-site, working independently, and delivering excellent customer service within strict SLAs.
Location requirement (non-negotiable)
Candidates must be based in Gauteng and reside in one of the following areas:
Woodmead, Johannesburg, Krugersdorp, Midrand, Centurion, Sandton, Pretoria, Vaal.
What you’ll be doing:
- Resolve customer queries and technical issues within agreed SLA timelines
- Perform on-site installations, repairs, maintenance and testing on POS and desktop equipment
- Diagnose faults, troubleshoot problems, and implement the best-fit solution
- Drive first time-fix outcomes and reduce repeat callouts
- Maintain strong customer relationships through professional, customer-centric service
- Update and manage service calls with clear notes and work details completed on site
- Follow Quality Management System (QMS) processes and guidelines from the Field Service Manager
- Maintain sufficient boot stock and complete required administration on time
What we’re looking for:
Qualifications:
- Matric (Grade 12) (required)
- CompTIA A+ and N+ (required)
- Electronic skills (required)
- ITIL Foundation (advantageous)
Experience:
- ± 2 years’ experience maintaining equipment in an IT environment (required)
- ± 1 year supporting desktop equipment (required)
- Experience with POS devices (advantageous)
Skills:
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
- Comfortable working independently and under pressure
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong time management, prioritisation, and attention to detail
- Proactive, reliable, and flexible with a continuous learning mindset
Other requirements:
- On-site work model at client sites
- Valid driver’s license and own reliable vehicle
- Must reside in one of the specified Gauteng areas listed above
- Credit and criminal checks will be conducted
