Mission and objectives
Progressive Volunteers (PV) is a community-based organization operating in Kenya since 2007. We are dedicated to supporting vulnerable young people in high-risk environments by providing viable alternatives to poverty, unemployment, and violence. Through structured programs and active community engagement, PV nurtures resilience, self-reliance, and sustainable development. Our vision is to build a strong network of committed volunteers who drive social and economic progress across Kenya. Our mission is to promote sustainable community development by harnessing the skills and dedication of volunteers in partnership with local and international organizations. Our Partnership: In line with this mission, Progressive Volunteers works closely with the Educate and Empower Organization (EEO), a community-driven non-profit organization founded in 2022. EEO is committed to transforming lives through education, empowerment, and advocacy. Together, we are implementing the Educate a Girl – Change a Life Kenya initiative, which focuses on transforming the lives of vulnerable students, especially girls, through access to quality education, mentorship, life skills training, and empowerment programs. The project creates clear pathways for personal growth, improved livelihoods, and meaningful community participation. By building capacity and fostering a culture of continuous learning, we support students through scholarships, provision of learning materials, mentorship sessions, and skills training workshops. These interventions empower young people to take charge of their futures, break the cycle of poverty, and become agents of positive change in their communities.
Context
We are seeking passionate, results-driven volunteers with proven experience in fundraising and a strong understanding of crowdfunding platforms. Ideal candidates will demonstrate a successful track record in resource mobilization and the ability to contribute strategically to the design and execution of fundraising initiatives. We are particularly interested in individuals with an active and engaging social media presence, capable of leveraging digital platforms to drive outreach, increase visibility, and mobilize support for our cause. The role requires the ability to design, launch, and manage comprehensive online fundraising campaigns that effectively connect storytelling, donor engagement, and impact. Volunteers will also play a critical role in strengthening the project’s digital footprint by growing and engaging online communities, expanding followers, increasing reach, and boosting meaningful interactions. Through these efforts, they will help build long-term donor relationships, enhance public awareness, and cultivate a strong, mission-driven support base that sustains and scales our impact.
