A fast-growing mining company in Egypt is seeking to appoint a Supply Chain & Procurement Director to lead the setup, transformation, and strategic direction of the function during a critical stage of growth.
This is not a routine leadership role.
It is a unique opportunity to build and shape the full supply chain and procurement function from the ground up within a dynamic and evolving business environment.
Key Scope of the Role:
- Develop and lead the overall supply chain and procurement strategy in alignment with business objectives
- Build the function’s operating model, policies, governance, and end-to-end processes
- Manage strategic sourcing, vendor partnerships, contract negotiations, and supplier performance
- Oversee CAPEX, MRO, and operational procurement across multiple sites
- Drive cost optimization, localization, efficiency, and service improvement initiatives
- Lead logistics, inventory planning, and materials management in remote operations
- Partner closely with executive leadership on expansion plans, budgeting, and operational readiness
- Build, develop, and lead a high-performing team capable of supporting business growth
Profile We Are Looking For
- 12+ years of progressive experience in Supply Chain & Procurement
- Strong exposure within Mining, Oil & Gas, Steel, EPC, or Heavy Industry
- Proven track record in project-based procurement, CAPEX, and multi-site operations
- Demonstrated success in building, transforming, or leading supply chain functions at a senior level
- Strong commercial mindset, negotiation capability, and strategic leadership skills
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP, is highly desirable
