This entity holds a pivotal mandate in transforming the national energy landscape, driving sustainable industrial growth, and executing multi-billion-naira infrastructure frameworks.

Role

As the organisation scales its operations to deliver on this mandate, it is expanding its leadership team and is seeking to engage exceptional talent across the following three roles:

Job Title: Strategic HR Business Partner

Engagement Type: Full-Time

Location: Abuja, Nigeria

Summary

The Strategic HR Business Partner will work closely with senior leadership and departmental heads to align human capital strategy with the organisation's broader industrial and infrastructure mandate. The role serves as a trusted advisor on workforce planning, talent management, organisational design, and employee relations, ensuring the organisation builds and retains the technical and managerial capability needed to deliver its national energy mandate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior leadership and departmental heads to translate business strategy into actionable workforce and talent plans.
  • Lead organisational design initiatives, ensuring structures, roles, and reporting lines evolve to support technical and administrative demands.
  • Drive talent acquisition strategies for specialised technical and managerial roles across the energy and power value chain.
  • Provide guidance on performance management, succession planning, and leadership development for a diverse technical workforce.
  • Manage complex employee relations matters, ensuring fair, consistent, and legally sound resolution of workplace issues.
  • Advise on compensation and benefits structures that remain competitive within public sector and energy industry benchmarks.
  • Champion culture and change management initiatives that support the organisation's transformation agenda.
  • Ensure HR policies, procedures, and practices comply with Nigerian labour law and public sector governance requirements.
  • Use workforce data and analytics to inform decision-making, providing regular reporting to executive management.

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Master's Degree (MBA, MSc HR, or related discipline) is an advantage.
  • Professional certification such as CIPM, CIPD, SHRM, or equivalent is required.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 10 12 years' progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a strategic business-partnering or senior HR leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting technical or engineering-driven organisations, preferably within energy, oil & gas, power, or infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of Nigerian labour law, public sector HR governance, and industrial relations.
  • Proven ability to lead organisational design and change management initiatives.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills at executive level.
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience using HR data and metrics to inform strategic decisions.
