About the Role:
We are seeking a reliable, organized, and proactive Stores controller to manage and control our inventory operations. This role is critical in supporting technical staff, maintaining accurate stock records, and ensuring efficient movement of parts and equipment between customers and internal departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain accurate stock levels at all times
- Ensure stock lists and inventory records are consistently up to date
- Operate and manage the stores inventory management system/computer application
- Conduct weekly restock reconciliation and inventory audits
- Procure parts required by technical staff in a timely manner
- Collect and deliver parts to customers and internal teams
- Manage receiving and dispatch of planned maintenance exchange units
- Package parts securely for delivery or shipment
- Audit customer stores and ensure compliance with stock control processes
- Audit and manage stores furniture, tools, and equipment
- Control access and maintain security of all stores inventory
- Create quotes and invoices
- Track and manage internal borrowed parts movements and transfers between customers
- Liaise with suppliers to monitor lead times and update expected delivery dates
- Maintain clear and professional communication with staff, customers, and suppliers
- The role involves working within the Projects department
- Required to always remain available on the phone, including after regular working hours.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Grade 12
- Previous experience in a stores, warehouse, or inventory management role
- A Higher Certificate or Diploma in Sales and Marketing or Logistics will be considered an added advantage.
- Strong working knowledge of inventory management systems
- Ability to create quotations and invoices
- Good understanding of stock control and procurement processes
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Valid driver’s license
