Storeman and fleet controller Jobs in Germiston at Special Steels
Stores
- Manage stock levels daily to ensure that minimum stock is readily available
- Plan regular stock replacement on a monthly basis to minimise orders during the month
- Build strong relationships with suppliers to ensure best prices
- Obtain quotes in a timely manner
- Able to work extensively on excel for reporting purposes
- Keep track of requested purchase orders to ensure that there are no duplicate order requests
- Provide detail information on PO requests
- Maintain records of outgoing stock
- Check incoming stock against order requirements
Experience on Pastel Accounting to create purchase orders is a plus, but for the interim it won’t be a requirement as that is currently dealt with in our finance department.
Fleet controller
Company Fleet
- Review daily truck inspections from drivers and action any issues related to any vehicles.
- Update fleet monitoring sheet with KM to monitor when service will be due.
- Liaise with third party suppliers regarding vehicle repairs and maintenance.
- Review quotes to ensure that only necessary repairs are quoted for.
- Negotiate rates and discounts.
- Ensure quotes are approved by the operations manager.
- Arrange with dispatch when vehicles can be booked in for any third party repairs/maintenance.
Staff vehicles
- Monitor staff vehicles and arrange for services when they are due.
- Investigate any issues with staff vehicles to determine whether it was due to fair wear and tare or due to negligence from the employee.
- Assist employees who would like to purchase new vehicles.
- Inspect potential new vehicles with staff ensuring that the vehicles are in good order.
- Provide final quote to the operations manager.
- If vehicles are approved, liaise with dealer and ensure all necessary paperwork is in order.
- Assist with vehicle collections when required.
Key Skills
- Computer literate especially with Excel
- Minimum 2 years stores experience in terms of working directly with suppliers, placing orders and maintaining stock levels
- Sound knowledge of vehicle maintenance and able to identify when repairs are related to negligence
- Strong organisation skills.
- Strong administrative skills
Pay: Up to R18 000,00 per month
