We are currently seeking a reliable, organized, and hardworking Storeman to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient handling, storage, and control of stock and materials within the warehouse/storeroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and unload incoming deliveries safely and efficiently.
- Verify received goods against delivery notes, invoices, and purchase orders.
- Inspect shipments for damages, shortages, or incorrect items and report discrepancies immediately.
- Ensure stock is packed, labelled, and stored correctly in designated locations.
- Apply FIFO (First-In, First-Out) stock rotation principles where applicable.
- Accurately pick, issue, and kit materials, tools, and stock as required.
- Conduct regular stock counts and assist with full stock takes.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure stock system accuracy.
- Keep the storeroom and warehouse clean, organized, and safe at all times.
- Adhere to all company safety procedures and housekeeping standards.
- Assist with general warehouse and operational duties when required.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric certificate.
- Previous experience in warehousing, logistics, or a similar stores environment will be advantageous.
- Basic computer literacy and experience working with inventory management systems.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Physically fit and capable of lifting heavy items and performing manual labour.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Valid driver’s license is essential.
