Role Description
The Store Manager role at Medellin Gentlemen Groomers is a full-time, on-site position based in Johannesburg. The Store Manager oversees daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, staff scheduling, and floor supervision to ensure a smooth client experience. This role is responsible for leading and coaching the team, monitoring service standards, handling customer feedback, and resolving concerns promptly and professionally. The Store Manager manages inventory, coordinates with suppliers, and supports retail merchandising and promotions to drive sales and profitability. The role also includes monitoring store cleanliness and presentation, implementing loss prevention practices, maintaining basic administrative records, and ensuring compliance with company policies and local regulations.
Qualifications
Strong customer-facing skills, including Customer Service and Customer Satisfaction, with a focus on building lasting client relationships.
Proven Store Management experience, preferably in retail, grooming, or hospitality environments.
Clear and professional Communication skills for interacting with clients, team members, and suppliers.
Familiarity with Retail Loss Prevention practices and basic cash-handling or point-of-sale procedures.Ability to lead, coach, and motivate a diverse team to meet performance and service goals.
Organizational and time-management skills to handle scheduling, inventory, and daily operational tasks.
Comfort using basic digital tools or systems (e.g., POS systems, scheduling software, email, and spreadsheets).
Previous experience in grooming, salon, barbershop, or related lifestyle/beauty retail is an advantage but not required.
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training in business, retail management, or hospitality is a plus.
