To qualify for this contract, you only need to meet ONE of the following criteria:
- Active CRCST certification.
- Active certification from the HSPA (Healthcare Sterile Processing Association).
- Graduation from an approved CRCST/Tech program plus 2+ years of active SPS experience.
- VA Level 1 certification plus 2+ years of active SPS experience.
- 5+ years of verifiable, hands-on SPS experience (No national certification required!).
Clinical Scope: Full-Spectrum Instrument Command
- The Instrument Matrix: Clean, inspect, test, assemble, and store complex surgical instrumentation and Reusable Medical Devices (RMD).
- Specialty Breadth: Provide seamless processing support across an extensive list of surgical specialties, including General, GYN, Ortho, ENT, Urology, Vascular, Dental, Podiatry, and advanced Robotics.
- High-Level Disinfection (HLD): Confidently handle, leak-test, and clean flexible endoscopes, adhering strictly to manufacturer Instructions for Use (IFUs).
- Quality Assurance: Independently execute and document biological testing, chemical indicators, and daily Bowie-Dick tests to ensure autoclave integrity.
- Mobile Operations: Utilize your valid driver’s license to travel to designated regional affiliate sites to perform reprocessing tasks as assigned.
Physical & Environmental Demands
SPS is the engine room of the surgical suite. Candidates must be fully prepared to:
- Work comfortably in hot, humid, and loud environments while maintaining strict adherence to full fluid-resistant PPE.
- Perform continuous physical tasks, including standing for long intervals, heavy lifting, and pushing mobile instrument carts.
- Demonstrate a practical understanding of microbiology, aseptic techniques, and microbial resistance to heat and chemical destructive agents.
Pay: $29.00 – $34.00 per hour
