Stemcell Transplant Co-ordinator (Re-advertisement) Jobs in Parktown at WDG Cellular + Immunotherapy Centre
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (STRICTLY NON-NEGOTIABLE)
- Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) with valid registration
- Must have clinical experience in Haematology and/or Oncology
- Experience in stem cell transplantation (autologous and/or allogeneic) is highly advantageous

KEY RESPONSIBILITIESPatient & Donor Work-Up
- Obtain and manage informed consent (HIV and transplant procedures)
- Coordinate HLA typing, compatibility testing, Anti A & B titres
- Ensure completion of all diagnostic work-ups (labs, ECG, imaging)
- Arrange and facilitate donor and family consultations
Administration & Documentation
- Prepare and maintain complete, audit-ready transplant files
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of all patient documentation
- Coordinate timeous submission of documentation to processing facilities (≥2 weeks prior)
Clinical Coordination & Communication
- Manage all pre-transplant patient communication
- Coordinate:
- Hospital admissions
- Blood product transfusions
- Theatre bookings (harvests, lines)
- Liaise with:
- Physicians (histology, chimerism, HLA results)
- Laboratories and hospitals
- Donor registries (e.g. DKMS/SABMR)
- Monitor and communicate critical clinical results
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to transplant protocols and JACIE-aligned standards
- Maintain high standards of accuracy, traceability, and documentation control
