Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Steel Detailer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed structural steel drawings and plans used in fabrication and construction. The role requires strong experience in AutoCAD and SAP, with the ability to interpret engineering and structural drawings accurately.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed structural steel drawings and shop drawings based on engineering designs.
- Use AutoCAD to create accurate fabrication and erection drawings.
- Interpret structural and architectural drawings and convert them into detailed steel layouts.
- Work with SAP for structural analysis data and coordination with engineering calculations.
- Produce material take-offs and bill of materials (BOM) for steel components.
- Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and fabrication teams to ensure drawings meet project requirements.
- Review drawings for accuracy, constructability, and compliance with project specifications.
- Revise and update drawings according to client feedback or engineering changes.
- Ensure all drawings follow industry standards and company guidelines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field.
- 2–3 years of experience in steel detailing within construction or structural steel projects.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Familiarity with SAP software related to structural design or project coordination.
- Good understanding of structural steel components, fabrication processes, and construction drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
