Title: Specialist: Talent Acquisition

Company: Capitec

Location: Stellenbosch, Western Cape, South Africa

Job description:

Why This Role Exists

We’re looking for a Talent Acquisition Specialist who goes beyond filling roles – a trusted Talent Advisor who partners closely with the business to shape hiring decisions, elevate talent quality, and drive long-term workforce outcomes.   This role is about owning and influencing the hiring process – bringing structure, insight, and market perspective to ensure we select the right talent. You will play a key role in guiding stakeholders, challenging thinking, and embedding best-in-class hiring practices. What You’ll Be Doing

  • Partner with hiring managers to define role requirements, success profiles, and hiring strategies
  • Act as a trusted advisor, providing guidance on talent availability, market trends, and hiring approaches
  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process (brief → interview → offer → close)
  • Facilitate structured, competency-based interviews and assessments
  • Influence and guide hiring decisions to ensure fairness, consistency, and quality of hire
  • Deliver a seamless, professional, and engaging candidate experience
  • Track, analyse, and report on recruitment metrics, insights, and hiring progress
  • Identify opportunities to optimise processes and improve hiring effectiveness
  • Ensure compliance with relevant labour legislation and internal policies

What You Bring

You are a credible Talent Advisor who brings insight, structure, and confidence into every hiring conversation.

You likely have:

  • At least 2–3 years’ experience in Talent Acquisition / Recruitment, ideally with exposure to technology and data-related roles
  • Proven experience managing end-to-end recruitment processes in a target-driven environment
  • Strong stakeholder management and the ability to influence and challenge constructively
  • Confidence in advising on hiring decisions using data, insights, and structured evaluation methods
  • A track record of building trusted relationships with business stakeholders

Proven experience in:

  • Interviewing techniques (including telephonic and competency-based interviewing)
  • Candidate response handling and constructive feedback delivery
  • Recruitment and selection processes and methodologies
  • Application and interpretation of assessments (e.g. ability tests, personality questionnaires)
  • Working with structured hiring frameworks and best practices

Ideal:

  • Experience with management competency frameworks, including assessment and feedback
  • Exposure to talent review processes and development conversations
Ability to contribute to broader talent discussions beyond hiring (e.g. talent planning, succession, capability building).

Why Join Us

  • Be more than a recruiter – Step into a true Talent Advisor role, where your insights and guidance directly influence hiring decisions and business outcomes.
  • Partner with purpose – Work closely with leaders to shape teams, not just fill roles, and contribute to long-term talent success.
  • Drive real impact – Play a key role in hiring critical mid to senior talent, where quality truly matters.
  • Elevate your craft – Strengthen your expertise in structured hiring, assessments, and talent advisory within a high-performing environment.
  • Shape better hiring experiences – Help build a fair, consistent, and engaging recruitment journey for every candidate.
