Sous Chef Jobs in Camps Bay at Maritime Finance PTY Ltd
Main duties
- Supervising all kitchen staff (commis, chefs de partie, kitchen assistants)
- Ensuring food is prepared and plated to standard
- Managing kitchen service during busy periods
- Checking food quality, taste, and presentation
- Controlling food costs, waste, and stock usage
- Ordering and receiving kitchen supplies (in some kitchens)
- Enforcing hygiene and safety standards (HACCP compliance)
- Training and mentoring junior chefs
- Helping design or adjust menus with the Head Chef
Key responsibilities
- Runs the kitchen when the Head Chef is off-duty
- Solves problems during service (delays, mistakes, shortages)
- Keeps the team organized and working efficiently under pressure
- Maintains consistency in every dish leaving the kitchen
Pay: R12 000,00 – R15 000,00 per month
