Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Lilongwe for a Social Safeguards Specialist. The specialist will be responsible for conducting social impact assessments, developing and implementing social safeguard plans, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks and standards. The role involves liaising with stakeholders, providing guidance on social risk management, developing capacity-building initiatives, and monitoring the effectiveness of implemented safeguards in alignment with organizational and client requirements.

Qualifications

  • Expertise in Social Impact Assessments, Social Safeguard Frameworks, and Risk Mitigation Strategies
  • Experience in Stakeholder Engagement, Community Consultation, and Conflict Resolution
  • Knowledge of Regulatory Compliance, Social Policy Development, and International Safeguard Standards
  • Skills in Report Writing, Analytical Research, and Data Interpretation
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools for data analysis and reporting
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field
  • Previous experience working in the development sector or with international organizations is an asset
  • Should have Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology with minimum of 5 years’ experience in related community-based assignments
