SUMMARY:

Our legal client is seeking a motivated Admitted Attorney to join their team on a 12-month contract. This opportunity is ideal for a recently admitted attorney or a candidate with up to one year of post-articles experience who has an interest in property law and conveyancing

Salary: R25 000 CTC per month

POSITION INFO:

Minimum Requirements:

  • LLB
  • Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa
  • Recently completed articles or has up to one year post-admission experience
  • Exposure to conveyancing matters will be advantageous
  • Valid driver’s licence and own reliable vehicle (travel to clients required)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct consultations with clients (in-office and off-site) for the signing of transfer and bond documentation
  • Manage and oversee property transactions from initiation through to registration and finalisation of accounts
  • Draft and review agreements of sale, cancellation agreements, and other legal documents related to property transactions
  • Handle various property-related matters, including:
    • Opening of township and sectional title registers
    • Subdivision and consolidation of land and properties
    • Liaising with local authorities, Deeds Office, and SARS regarding rates clearances and transfer duty matters
    • Resolving issues relating to property registrations and title conditions
  • Attend to notarial work where required, including:
    • Notarisation and authentication of documents for local and international use
    • Obtaining Apostilles and Certificates of Authentication
    • Drafting and attending to notarial deeds
  • Ensure all registrations are processed in accordance with agreed timelines, processes, and procedures
  • Supervise conveyancing support staff in relation to lodgements, registrations, and general conveyancing processes
  • Examine legal documentation
  • Provide legal advice on contractual implications and property-related matters
  • Prepare and certify legal documents
