Blink is a curated homeware, gift, and lifestyle store located in the heart of Sea Point. We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and detail-oriented Shop Assistant to join our team.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in keeping a store beautifully presented, and is willing to be hands-on with both customer service and stock-related tasks.
We are looking for someone seeking a long-term opportunity who can work independently, take initiative, and contribute positively to a small team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting customers in-store.
- Receiving, unpacking, and processing new stock.
- Pricing and merchandising products.
- Maintaining attractive product displays.
- Performing stock counts and stock-taking duties.
- Gift wrapping and packaging customer purchases.
- Ensuring the store remains clean, organized, and well-presented.
- Assisting with general day-to-day store operations.
- Providing friendly and professional customer service.
Requirements
Essential
- Matric certificate.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Professional appearance and positive attitude.
Advantageous
- Previous retail experience.
- Cashier experience.
- Customer service experience.
- Visual merchandising experience.

Working Hours
- Monday to Friday: 08:45 – 17:00. [Off-season]
- Saturday: 08:45 – 15:00. [Off-season]
- Peak-season times vary.
- Full-time position.
- Two additional days off per month may be granted after successful completion of the probation period (excluding Mondays, Fridays, and Saturdays)
Employment Type

- Probation period of 3 months leading to permanent employment
Salary
R3 750.00 – R9 500.00
Dependent on experience and performance during the probation period.
