Role Description The Shipping Coordinator (Logistics – Food Exporting) is a full-time, on-site role based in Cairo, Egypt. This role is responsible for coordinating daily outbound and inbound shipments, preparing export documentation, and ensuring compliance with international food export regulations and customer requirements. The Shipping Coordinator will liaise with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal departments to schedule pickups, track shipments, and resolve any transportation or documentation issues. Responsibilities include overseeing loading activities, verifying quantities and packaging, updating inventory records, and maintaining accurate shipping logs and reports. The role also involves communicating proactively with customers about shipment status, handling inquiries or complaints in a professional manner, and contributing to continuous improvement of logistics processes and cost efficiency.
Qualifications
- Strong Shipping & Receiving skills, including preparing shipping documents, coordinating carrier pickups, and checking shipment accuracy.
- Experience in Export logistics, preferably in food or FMCG, including familiarity with export regulations, Incoterms, and customs procedures.
- Knowledge of Inventory Control practices, with the ability to reconcile stock, monitor movements, and work with warehouse and production teams.
- Customer Service skills to manage communication with clients, resolve shipment issues, and maintain professional relationships with partners and vendors.
- Basic understanding of warehouse operations; Forklift Operation experience or certification is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational and time-management abilities, and capability to handle multiple shipments and deadlines simultaneously.
- Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and familiarity with ERP or warehouse management systems; ability to generate and interpret logistics reports.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic language skills are required for effective local coordination.
- Previous experience in logistics, supply chain, or export coordination, ideally within the food manufacturing or exporting sector.
- Relevant diploma or bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field is preferred.
