POSITION INFO:

SHEQ Officer – Germiston

Salary: Market Related

Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented SHEQ Officer to oversee and maintain the company’s Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, company policies, and operational procedures while promoting a safe and efficient working environment.

This role includes conducting inspections, managing SHEQ documentation, investigating incidents, supporting audits, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the business. The ideal candidate will have strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with staff at all levels.

Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 (Matric)

Formal qualification in Quality, Health & Safety, and/or ISO

Minimum 5 Years’ Experience In Quality, Health & Safety

ISO 9001:2015 experience

Internal and supplier audit experience

ISO audit experience

Computer literacy essential

SAP experience advantageous

Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and workplace compliance

Good understanding of quality management systems and ISO processes

Strong auditing skills

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

Strong organisational and administrative abilities

Ability to identify risks and implement corrective actions

Good analytical and problem-solving skills

Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

Strong report writing and documentation management skills

Excellent time management and follow-through

Key Responsibilities

Conduct internal and supplier audits to ensure compliance with company standards and procedures

Monitor and maintain SHEQ compliance across the business

Identify workplace hazards, risks, and non-conformances and implement corrective actions

Maintain accurate SHEQ documentation, reports, records, and audit findings

Assist with incident investigations, root cause analysis, and reporting

Conduct regular workplace inspections to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards

Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workplace safety and operational efficiency

Provide guidance and support to staff regarding SHEQ procedures and best practices

Monitor Supplier Compliance With Company Quality And Safety Requirements

Assist with preparation for external audits and ensure documentation is updated and compliant

Promote a strong safety and quality culture throughout the organisation
