Job Title: Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) Representative

Job Purpose
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) Representative to promote and maintain a safe, healthy, and compliant workplace. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring adherence to SHE policies, procedures, and legal requirements while fostering a strong safety culture within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- monitor and maintain SHE policies and procedures in line with company standards and legislation
- Conduct regular risk assessments, inspections, and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses; compile detailed reports and recommend corrective actions
- Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of SHE activities
- Facilitate safety training, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns
- Monitor the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and enforce compliance
- Liaise with management, employees, and relevant authorities on SHE matters
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety regulations and environmental standards
- Assist in emergency preparedness and response planning
- Promote continuous improvement in SHE performance across the organization
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric (essential)
- Relevant qualification in Safety Management, Environmental Health, or Occupational Health & Safety
- Valid SHE Representative certification
- Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety legislation and regulations
- Minimum of 1–2 years’ experience in a similar SHE role
- Computer literacy (MS Office Suite)
- Strong report writing and administrative skills

Advantageous
- First Aid certification
- Firefighting training
