Job Summary:
To provide accurate mine surveying services for open-cast mining operations, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, supporting geology, mine planning, and delivering precise spatial data for production, reconciliation, and reporting. Ndalama Capital Mining(Pty)Ltd is involved in mining and commodity projects, including,chrome,PGMs, coal and other minerals.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct topographical, boundary, and mining surveys.
- Establish and maintain survey control networks.
- Survey pits, waste dumps, stockpiles, haul roads, and infrastructure.
- Generate monthly production and volumetric reports.
- Prepare and update mine plans in accordance with DMRE requirements.
- Ensure compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) and Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act (MPRDA).
- Support drill-and-blast, geology, and mine planning teams with survey data.
- Manage drone survey activities and data processing where applicable.
- Reconcile mined volumes against production figures.
- Maintain survey equipment calibration and records
- Participating in meetings, interacting with other teams.
Education
- Grade 12 with minimum 50% maths and science.
- Advanced Chamber of Mine survey and Elementary Sampling (requirement).
- Advantageous- National Diploma or BTech in Mine Surveying.
- Government Certificate of Competency (Mine Surveyor) will be advantageous.
- Professional registration with the South African Geomatics Council is advantageous.
- Computer Literacy
- Minimum 15–20 years experience in open-cast mining operations.
- Proficiency in survey software such as Surpac, Datamine, AutoCAD, or similar.
- Experience with GPS, Total Stations, UAV/Drone surveys, and GIS systems.
- Valid driver’s licence.

- Strong reporting and communication skills.
- Problem-solving and analytical thinking.
- Knowledge of mining legislation and survey standards.
