Senior Sous Chef

Career Growth Hospitality Recruitment are looking for an experienced Senior Sous Chef to join a prestigious luxury hospitality property in the heart of Stellenbosch.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and hands-on culinary professional who thrives in a high-end kitchen environment. Working closely with the Executive Chef, you will play a key role in leading the kitchen brigade, maintaining exceptional food standards, and creating memorable dining experiences for guests.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Executive Chef in the day-to-day management of the kitchen
• Lead, motivate and develop the kitchen team
• Ensure exceptional food quality, consistency and presentation
• Assist with menu planning, recipe development and seasonal offerings
• Maintain excellent food safety, hygiene and HACCP standards
• Manage stock control, ordering and minimise food waste
• Monitor kitchen costs while maintaining quality standards
• Ensure smooth service during busy meal periods
• Assist with training and mentoring junior chefs
• Step into the Executive Chef’s role when required

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Senior Sous Chef or strong Sous Chef within a luxury hotel, estate or fine dining restaurant
• Excellent leadership and people management skills
• Passion for delivering exceptional food and guest experiences
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Good knowledge of food costing, stock control and kitchen administration
• Excellent understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
• Calm and professional under pressure
• A positive attitude with a hands-on approach
