SUMMARY:
Our client is looking for a Senior Software Developer (Python/Django) to join their high-performing team based in Johannesburg North (fully in-office). This role is ideal for a passionate Developer who thrives in a fast-paced, innovative environment and enjoys building robust, scalable web applications.
POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from design to deployment and ongoing optimisation
- Develop and maintain high-quality, scalable web applications
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance system functionality and performance
- Ensure code quality through testing, validation, and best practice development standards
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and technical practices
- Work with sensitive data, ensuring security and reliability at all times
- Mentor and support team members, promoting knowledge sharing and technical growth
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and contribute to innovation initiatives
Requirements:
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a related field (or proven experience)
- Strong experience developing within a web framework
- Solid understanding of relational databases (preferably PostgreSQL)
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment
Beneficial Experience:
- Python and Django
- Front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, and JavaScript)
- Version control (Git)
- Numerical libraries (NumPy and Pandas)
- Exposure to cybersecurity practices
- Experience within financial or data-driven environments
