Role Description The Senior Site Electrical Engineer role at PCP is a full-time, on-site position based in Cairo. The Senior Site Electrical Engineer oversees all electrical works on construction sites, ensuring compliance with design specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include supervising installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems, coordinating with project managers, architects, and other engineering disciplines, and reviewing drawings and technical documents for accuracy and feasibility. The role involves monitoring contractor performance, resolving technical issues, managing site inspections, and preparing progress reports and documentation. The Senior Site Electrical Engineer also contributes to planning, resource allocation, and continuous improvement of site practices to support timely and cost-effective project delivery.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, building services, and construction-site electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and low-current systems.
- Demonstrated experience in supervising electrical works on large residential, commercial, or mixed-use projects, with a focus on quality, safety, and compliance with local codes and international standards.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications, and in using relevant engineering and design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit MEP or similar).
- Solid project coordination skills, including planning, scheduling, resource management, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with capacity to handle on-site issues, conduct root-cause analysis, and propose practical technical solutions.
- Effective communication and reporting skills, including the ability to prepare technical documentation, site reports, and handover records in a clear and structured manner.
- Commitment to occupational health and safety practices, risk assessment, and implementation of site safety procedures for electrical works.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field; professional certification or membership in relevant engineering bodies is an advantage.
