The Senior Project Engineer plays a key leadership role in the planning, coordination, execution, and successful delivery of projects from initiation to completion. The role involves overseeing technical activities, managing project schedules, coordinating with clients and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with company standards and safety regulations, and supporting junior engineers throughout the project lifecycle.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee project planning, scheduling, execution, and monitoring activities.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, and progress tracking reports.
- Review technical drawings, specifications, and shop drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal departments to ensure smooth project execution.
- Monitor project deliverables and ensure works are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Prepare and review technical submittals, RFIs (Requests for Information), method statements, and progress reports.
- Identify project risks, delays, and technical issues, and implement corrective actions proactively.
- Support procurement and material planning activities to ensure timely project delivery.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and company policies throughout project execution.
- Participate in site meetings, inspections, testing, and commissioning activities when required.
- Maintain proper project documentation and ensure accurate reporting and record keeping.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and provide technical support to project teams.
- Monitor project budgets and assist in cost control and resource optimization.
- Ensure effective communication between all stakeholders to achieve project objectives within the agreed timeline and budget.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Construction Management.
- Minimum 5–8 years of relevant project engineering experience, preferably within construction, infrastructure, elevators & escalators, or building services industry.
- Strong knowledge of project management tools and reporting systems.
- Experience in site supervision, coordination, and stakeholder management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software.
