Senior Parts Planner – Ethiopia
CLIENT
Linum Consult's client is a leading distributor of heavy machinery and equipment, catering to construction, road construction and mining in the Horn of Africa region. In response to sustained expansion, they are seeking to recruit a Senior Parts Planner experienced in mining equipment. This role will be based on a 7/3 FIFO basis on site in Ethiopia.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensuring operational parts availability for a large-scale Komatsu mining fleet by executing hands-on parts planning, closely aligned with maintenance activities and site requirements
- Executing day-to-day parts planning activities based on maintenance plans, breakdowns, and operational priorities
- Translating weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly maintenance schedules into actionable parts requirements
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date parts forecasts, continuously adjusting based on actual consumption and site feedback
- Monitoring stock levels on site and triggering replenishment recommendations to the customer maintenance and/or procurement team in a timely manner
- Following up on open orders, backorders, and deliveries to ensure parts are available when required
CLIENT REQUIREMENTS
- University degree or diploma in Engineering or equivalent experience
- 10 years’ experience in mining or heavy equipment industry maintenance/support, with at least 5 years' experience in parts planning
- Substantial hands-on experience with Komatsu mining equipment (PC2000, HD785, D275, WA600, GD825)
- Strong understanding of maintenance planning and component lifecycles
- Experienced with ERP systems (ideally INFOR M3) and strong Excel skills
- Willingness to travel regularly in Ethiopia
- Fluent in spoken and written English
