Position Overview
We are seeking highly experienced professionals with deep, demonstrable expertise in Nigeria’s geopolitical, security, and economic landscape to support advanced research and strategic analysis on Nigeria and its role within the broader African and global system.
This role is specifically designed for individuals who have operated within or closely alongside Nigeria’s diplomatic, military, legislative, media, or foreign trade ecosystems, and who possess a strong understanding of policy formation, national security dynamics, and international engagement frameworks.
The selected analyst(s) will contribute to high-level intelligence reports, policy briefs, and strategic assessments that inform decision-making on political risk, economic direction, and regional stability across Africa.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth analysis of Nigeria’s political, security, and economic developments, with clear implications for regional and international stakeholders
- Track and interpret federal government policies, legislative activities, military/security developments, and diplomatic engagements
- Produce high-quality policy briefs, intelligence reports, and strategic assessments with clear, actionable insights
- Analyze Nigeria’s role within ECOWAS, African Union frameworks, and global partnerships, including foreign trade and bilateral relations
- Monitor real-time developments across governance, conflict zones, elections, and economic policy shifts
- Contribute to closed-door research discussions, providing expert-level insights grounded in practical experience and contextual understanding
- Maintain reliable information networks and sources to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and depth of analysis
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a Master’s degree in International Relations, Political Science, Economics, Security Studies, or a related field
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience in one or more of the following:
- Government or public service (federal or state level)
- Diplomatic service or foreign affairs
- Military or security institutions (mid-to-senior level)
- Journalism or political reporting (reputable platforms)
- Foreign trade, economic policy, or international business
- Demonstrated ability to produce structured analytical writing, including policy briefs, reports, or published commentary
Strong understanding of:
- Nigeria’s political institutions and governance structure
- National security dynamics and regional conflicts
- Economic policy, trade flows, and development priorities
- Ability to translate complex national developments into clear strategic insights
- Proven capacity to work independently while contributing to high-level research outputs
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working with or advising government agencies, international organizations, or policy think tanks
- Direct involvement in policy development, security operations, legislative processes, or diplomatic engagements
- Established track record of published articles, policy papers, or recognized thought leadership on Nigerian or African affairs
- Strong networks within government, media, security, or economic institutions
- Experience with data analysis, intelligence synthesis, or geopolitical risk tools
Work Authorization

Compensation
Compensation is structured based on experience, depth of expertise, and quality of output:
Grade A: $500
Grade B: $350
Grade C: $300
Grade D: $200
Grade E: $100
