Job Description
A leading organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Manager:
Procurement to lead the development and execution of strategic procurement initiatives across the business. This role is responsible for overseeing procurement strategy, managing tender and contract processes, and ensuring effective supplier engagement across the supply chain value chain. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving governance, compliance, and operational efficiency while aligning procurement activities with broader organisational objectives.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a high-level procurement strategy aligned with organisational goals
Oversee the full tender and contract management process across procurement categories
Manage procurement spend across multiple business segments and drive strategic sourcing initiatives
Establish and monitor procurement performance indicators to ensure operational excellence
Ensure procurement policies, governance frameworks, and compliance standards are implemented and maintained
Analyse market trends, supplier capabilities, pricing, and capacity to inform procurement decisions
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure effective procurement processes across the organisation
Lead, mentor, and manage the procurement team to achieve operational and strategic objectives
Strengthen supplier relationships and ensure standardised negotiation practices across the organisation
Requirements:
Degree in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, or a related field
Minimum of 10 years’ procurement experience, including at least 5 years at management or senior management level
Proven experience in strategic sourcing, contract and tender management, and supplier relationship management
Experience working with SAP as an ERP system
Strong understanding of supply chain governance, procurement compliance, and BBBEE requirements
Experience with category management and managing procurement across multiple business segments
Knowledge of governance frameworks such as King IV is advantageous
Experience with in the health sector would be beneficial
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel nationally and internationally when required
