Senior Laboratory Technician

What you will enjoy doing

• You perform advanced qualitative and quantitative gas analyses, ensuring full compliance with accreditation requirements and internal quality systems
• Ensure reliable, accurate, and traceable analytical results are consistently generated and conduct a 100% independent review of analytical data prior to entry into LIMS and submission for secondary-level review
• You demonstrate advanced instrument troubleshooting capabilities, particularly on Gas Chromatography (GC) systems, including fault isolation, method performance issues, baseline instability, detector performance, and matrix-related challenges
• You apply a strong, practical understanding of GC principles, including columns, detectors, carrier gases, calibration strategies, and method optimisation
• Proactively identify, investigate, and report non-conformances, including instrument malfunctions, matrix interferences, QC failures, and out-of-specification results
• Furthermore, you support continuous improvement initiatives related to analytical quality, efficiency, and instrument reliability and provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior technicians where required

What makes you great

• You possess a university degree in Chemistry or a BTech in Analytical Chemistry, with 4–8 years of relevant experience in a regulated laboratory environment operating in compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 and GMP principles
• You demonstrate proven technical competence in chemical and gas analysis, with hands-on experience aligned to ISO 6142, including calibration gas handling, verification, and stability evaluation
• You possess advanced working knowledge of analytical instrumentation, including Gas Chromatography (GC), UV-Vis, and FTIR, with the ability to operate, verify performance, and troubleshoot instruments in accordance with validated methods and quality procedures
• Demonstrate strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of a multi-disciplinary team, while effectively managing multiple tasks simultaneously
• You have excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling clear documentation, reporting, and effective interaction with internal and external stakeholders
• You display a strong work ethic and operational flexibility, including a willingness to work overtime when required to meet operational, quality, or turnaround-time demands
