Senior IT Support Technician – Kempton Park
We are looking for an experienced Senior IT Support Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will provide expert-level technical support, manage escalated issues, and help maintain a reliable IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate is a skilled problem-solver, a mentor for junior staff, and stays up-to-date with the latest technology trends.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver advanced technical support to resolve complex hardware, software, and network issues
- Handle escalated tickets from junior IT staff and ensure prompt resolution
- Perform system administration tasks including user management, access control, and software installations
- Troubleshoot network connectivity, configuration, and performance issues
- Collaborate with IT teams on infrastructure projects and system upgrades
- Mentor and guide junior support staff, fostering their professional development
- Document solutions and maintain knowledge base articles for reference
- Keep abreast of emerging technologies and recommend improvements to existing systems
Requirements
- Valid Code 8 driver’s license and access to a car
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in IT support, including at least 2 years in a senior or lead role
- Strong expertise in Windows and/or Linux operating systems
- Proficient in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) are an advantage
Work Schedule
- Monday – Friday: 08:00 – 17:00
- Full-time position
Salary
- Junior to Senior range: R6,000 – R15,000 per month
