deVere Investment Ltd is the largest private investment banking company in Mauritius and this is your opportunity to be part of our success. We are looking for a qualified Senior Investment Officer to join our team.
Reporting to the Investment Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and guiding a team of investment analysts, ensuring the achievement of defined objectives, while promoting a professional and collaborative working environment.
The role encompasses the following key responsibilities:
- Provide effective leadership and strategic direction to the investment analysis team, establishing clear performance expectations and ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
- Assist to develop, implement, and continuously enhance procedures governing investment advisory operations, ensuring full compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Review and approve new business client cases, ensuring suitability, completeness, and adherence to internal standards and regulatory requirements.
- Provide final sign-off on trades, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with client mandates and investment strategies.
- Monitor and assess portfolio performance against established benchmarks and client objectives, and recommend appropriate actions where required.
- Deliver informed investment advice to clients, taking into consideration their financial objectives, risk appetite, and capital preservation requirements.
- Undertake comprehensive research and analysis of financial markets, economic trends, and individual securities to support robust investment decisions.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of geopolitical and macroeconomic developments that may impact investment strategies.
- Act as a principal point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, fostering strong professional relationships and ensuring timely resolution of queries and concerns.
- Work in close collaboration with compliance, operations, and other relevant functions to ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and internal standards.
- Remain informed of regulatory developments and evaluate their potential implications for portfolio management activities.
Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field, together with a mandatory postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline.
- A minimum of five (5) years of proven experience within the financial services sector, including at least three (3) years in a relevant role. Prior experience in a managerial or supervisory capacity will be considered a distinct advantage.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely.
- High level of attention to detail, with strong organisational and time management abilities.
