Senior Internal Auditor (Retail Group)
POSITION INFO:
An exciting opportunity has opened within a leading retail group’s Internal Audit team, offering exposure across a diverse and complex business environment.
This role provides the chance to work on short-term assurance and advisory assignments across operational, financial, and strategic areas – giving you broad, high-impact exposure across the Group.
You will play a key role in evaluating and strengthening governance, risk, and control processes, while delivering meaningful insights that add real value to the business.

Duties:
- Plan and execute internal audit assignments across business units
- Conduct detailed process analysis to understand control environments
- Develop risk and control matrices and evaluate control effectiveness
- Leverage data analytics to enhance audit efficiency and insights
- Identify root causes and provide practical, value-adding recommendations
- Prepare high-quality audit reports with clear findings and action plans
- Engage with stakeholders to discuss findings and drive improvements
- Ensure audits are delivered within timelines, budget, and quality standards
- Identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement
Job Experience & Skills Required:
Qualifications:
- Matric (Grade 12)
- BCom Internal Audit / Accounting
- Postgraduate qualification (Honours or equivalent)
- CA(SA), CIA, or CFA(advantageous)
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience at a senior internal audit level (Audit Senior / Supervisor / Assistant Manager)
- Strong knowledge of financial and operational internal controls
- Experience with business process analysis
- Exposure to data analytics tools (Advanced Excel, SQL or similar) advantageous
- SAP experience beneficial
- Retail or financial services exposure (advantageous)

- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability
- Ability to manage multiple audit projects simultaneously
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- High level of attention to detail and report writing capability
- Ability to work both independently and within a team
