Job Requirements

An Honours degree or equivalent in Human Resources, coupled with five years’ relevant experience, preferably within the higher education sector. In addition, candidates should

• Be competent in the Microsoft suite and have working knowledge of HR Information Systems (e.g. Oracle, SAP, ITS – preferable)
• Be registered with an HR professional body.
• Have effective communication and report writing skills as well as the ability to build rapport with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Have solid technical knowledge of the full HR value chain
• Have working knowledge of HR standards
• Be innovative and able to come up with strategies that enhance the Human Resources agenda.
• A valid driver’s license will be an added advantage.

Duties

The Senior Human Resources Business Partner will be responsible for the following:

• Interpreting business and HR strategies, policies and guidelines.
• Leading the implementation, enablement, as well as the delivery of the HR agenda to the University.
• Champion implementation as well as best-in-class Human Resources activities
• Enhance the attainment of university objectives as well as operational and service excellence.
• Build a strong, collaborative and efficient team.
• Establish and promote a collaborative and solution-driven approach within the team as well as with other HR functions and the other internal departments, as well as external stakeholders.
• Optimally and efficiently manage allocated resources. The candidate will be expected to manage and mitigate risks.
• Mentor junior staff
• Ensure compliance and data integrity.
• Ensure efficient partnership with Faculties, Departments and Directorates and alignment of HR goals and objectives with the strategies and needs of such Faculties, Departments and Directorates.
