The Senior Financial Accountant plays a central role in the Rise Group finance function, responsible for the integrity of the general ledger, balance sheet reconciliations, statutory submissions, group reporting, and coordination of the external audit process. The role oversees the full financial close cycle for Rise and Fworx (until integration into Rise), and consolidation reporting for Connected Space.
The role provides first-line technical review and oversight of the Junior Accountant’s work, ensuring quality, accuracy, and timely delivery while supporting ongoing development. It is also responsible for the preparation and review of routine group reporting deliverables, including submissions through Finnivo, with analysis and commentary for management review.
This position requires strong financial control, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate multiple deadlines across a fast-paced reporting environment.
- BCom Accounting or equivalent degree.
- CIMA, SAIPA or equivalent professional qualification.
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a financial accounting role, with demonstrated ownership of a full month-end close cycle.
- Proven experience with Sage X3 or comparable ERP (SAP, Oracle, SYSPRO)- Sage X3 a significant advantage.
- Experience with a group reporting or consolidation tool ( Finnivo, Cognos, HFM or similiar)- significant advantage.
- Demonstrated experience preparing VAT201 and EMP201 returns for submission to SARS.
