PRIMARY PURPOSE
To manage member accounts ensuring they are a true and accurate record of member transactions at the Club, contacting members with outstanding accounts and resolving queries timeously, and supervising credit control personnel and processes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
â–ª Supervise credit control personnel and processes.
â–ª Manage member accounts within an alphabet range as determined by management.
â–ª Update and maintain membership data for allocated members.
â–ª Open and load new temporary accounts for non-members.
â–ª Open reciprocal member accounts within the portfolio allocated by management.
â–ª Monthly close-off of membership accounts.
â–ª Telephonically contact members at 30 days to ensure satisfaction with charges on their account.
â–ª Consistently contact members (telephonically and in writing) to ensure accounts at 60 days and over are settled.
â–ª Ensure outstanding amounts do not exceed set thresholds: 60-day book at 3% and 90-day book at 1% of total book value.
â–ª Ensure subscriptions are collected at least by April each year.
â–ª Resolve member queries within 48 hours; escalate delays timeously.
â–ª Raise and process membership journals.
â–ª Raise ad-hoc invoices as requested by members.
â–ª Raise pro-rata subscription invoices where necessary.
â–ª Accept and process membership charges where required.
â–ª Charge Club functions where required.
â–ª Load deposits for functions and reconcile the GL account at month end.
â–ª Reconcile the management prefund and club account at month end.
â–ª File member correspondence.
â–ª Generate reports and reconcile accounts related to this position as required by management.
â–ª Assist other credit controllers during periods of leave.
â–ª Ad-hoc projects as and when required by management.
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES & SKILLS
â–ª Mature individual with strong written and verbal communication skills.
â–ª High attention to detail and accuracy.
â–ª Ability to work well under pressure.
â–ª Computer literate in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
â–ª Working knowledge of accounting software, preferably Jonas.
â–ª Honest and reliable.
MINIMUM / PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE
â–ª Minimum of 10 years’ experience in credit control, with proven exposure to a Senior Credit Controller role.
â–ª Previous experience in a Club environment and with Jonas Club Management software is
advantageous.
QUALIFICATION
â–ª Minimum Matric.
â–ª Diploma/Certificate in Bookkeeping or Credit Control (preferred).
