Senior Bookkeeper (Remote – Temp to Permanent)
We are a small, established accounting practice looking for a mature, experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join our team on a full-time remote temp-to-permanent basis.
The ideal candidate must preferably have had previous experience working within a small accounting firm environment and be confident handling a variety of payroll, tax, and client liaison responsibilities independently.
Key Responsibilities:
· Processing monthly payrolls accurately and timeously
· Submitting payroll-related statutory returns, including EMP201 / EMP501, UIF, and Workmen’s Compensation (WCC)
· Preparing and submitting tax returns
· Liaising directly with SARS and other relevant authorities
· Resolving client queries and compliance issues
· General bookkeeping and administrative support where required
Requirements:
· Proven bookkeeping and payroll experience within an accounting practice
· Strong knowledge of SARS processes and submissions
· Experience with payroll systems and accounting software
· Ability to work independently and manage deadlines remotely
· Professional communication and client service skills
· Mature, reliable, and detail-oriented
· Stable internet connection and suitable home office setup
