About the Role
We are a US-based company seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our fully remote team. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience working at a US accounting firm or US company, be highly proficient in QuickBooks, and be available to work Eastern Standard Time (EST) hours.
This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned accounting professional to take on advanced responsibilities and contribute to strategic financial management in a supportive, remote environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation, review, and analysis of financial statements (profit & loss, balance sheets, cash flow statements)
- Manage and oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes
- Reconcile complex bank and credit card accounts and resolve discrepancies
- Ensure full compliance with US accounting standards (GAAP) and internal controls
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to management for decision-making
- Mentor and support junior accounting staff and collaborate across teams on financial projects
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning
- Identify process improvements and implement best practices in accounting operations
Requirements
- 5+ years of accounting experience in a US accounting firm or US-based company
- Strong proficiency in QuickBooks and other accounting software
- Deep understanding of US accounting principles (GAAP)
- Proven ability to analyze financial data and provide actionable insights
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy with excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote environment
- Must be US-based and able to work EST hours
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA designation or equivalent certification
- Experience with payroll systems, ERP software, or advanced accounting tools
- Experience leading and mentoring accounting teams
