They are seeking a detail-driven and compliance-focused Senior Accountant to join their expanding team. This role is ideal for a technically strong professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is confident managing multiple client engagements while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and excellent service delivery.
This is a remote position open to those living anywhere in South Africa.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end bookkeeping, including accurate double-entry processing and reconciliations
- Prepare year-end statutory accounts in line with FRS 102 (Section 1A) and FRS 105
- Prepare and review UK corporation tax computations and submissions
- Complete and submit VAT returns accurately and on time
- Work with cloud-based accounting tools such as Xero, Dext, and TaxCalc
- Act as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of smaller clients
- Respond to technical accounting and tax queries with clear, practical solutions
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth delivery across client accounts
- Contribute to process improvements, automation, and workflow efficiencies
- Support onboarding of new clients and system implementations
- Assist with ad hoc financial tasks, reporting, and team projects
Skills, Experience & Requirements
- Minimum 3+ years’ UK accounting experience (VAT, year-end accounts, corporation tax)
- Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards and compliance requirements
- Solid experience with Xero, Dext, and TaxCalc
- Strong bookkeeping and double-entry accounting skills
- Advanced Excel and cloud accounting system proficiency
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proactive, solutions-oriented, and able to work independently
- ACCA / ACA qualified or nearing completion
