Job Summary
We are seeking an ambitious, presentable, and self-motivated Sales Representative to join our team. The successful candidate must be energetic, well-organised, and capable of prioritising tasks effectively. Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to build and maintain lasting customer relationships. The role involves actively seeking new business opportunities while managing and growing an existing customer base.
POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing customers through regular visits and sales calls
- Identify and engage new customers to promote products and expand the client base
- Develop and maintain strong product knowledge
- Attend site visits, client meetings, and product-related meetings
- Deliver product samples to customers when required
- Gather and report market intelligence and customer feedback to management
- Keep the customer database accurate and up to date
- Inform customers about new product developments and special promotions
- Monitor stock levels and product availability
- Capture and process orders using order forms and Sage Evolution
- Follow up on orders to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction
- Record customer interactions and visits on Sage Evolution (Incidents)
- Gain a clear understanding of customers’ businesses and requirements
- Proactively identify and develop sales opportunities across all product lines
- Consistently meet and exceed sales targets
- Identify market trends and provide feedback on how the company can adapt
- Assist with office-based sales enquiries and tender processes
- Participate in marketing campaigns, including occasional Saturday work or overtime
- Perform any additional duties as required by management
Requirements & Skills
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building abilities
- Good planning, organisational, and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Target-driven with a strong sales focus
- Computer literate (experience with Sage Evolution advantageous)
- Valid driver’s license
