About The Job

  • The Sales Officer will work closely with the Business Development Manager to expand operations for ITM Tanzania, an HR consultancy across Tanzania. The Sales Officer is responsible for identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities. The role focuses exclusively on new client acquisition, market expansion, and revenue growth through proactive, strategic sales activities

Responsibilities

  • Business Development & Sales
  • Identify and target new business opportunities through market research, prospecting, and networking.
  • Generate leads through cold calling, referrals, LinkedIn outreach, events, and strategic partnerships.
  • Qualify prospects and understand client needs, challenges, and decision-making processes.
  • Develop and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and commercial terms in line with company guidelines.
  • Close new business deals and achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets.
  • Maintain an active and healthy sales pipeline.
  • Market Intelligence & Strategy
  • Conduct market and competitor analysis to identify growth opportunities.
  • Provide feedback to management on market trends, client needs, and competitor activities.
  • Support the development of sales strategies and go-to-market plans.
  • Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities within new accounts.
  • Client Relationship Management
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with new clients from first contact to onboarding handover.
  • Act as the primary contact during the acquisition phase until transition to account management (where possible).
  • Ensure high levels of professionalism, responsiveness, and client satisfaction.
  • Reporting & Administration
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the CRM system.
  • Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and pipeline updates

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in business development or B2B sales.
  • Demonstrated track record of acquiring new clients and meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Persuasive, confident, and professional demeanor.
  • High resilience and ability to handle rejection.
  • Self-motivated with a strong results-driven mindset.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
