As Sales Manager, administer and coordinate the business development activities of the African Region for all the renewable energy technologies, either directly or through the Sales Partner Programme in accordance with policies, goals, and objectives established by the Company in respect of commercial and industrial (“C&I”) opportunities.
Responsibilities
Sales Strategy and Leadership:
- Develop and implement the sales strategy to drive business growth in energy sales with a particular focus on:
- 5-80MW (small to medium segment), both C&I and municipal-connected.
- BESS solutions (both load shift or collocated installations at clients premises)
- Cross selling of EVC business where possible
- Support the sales team to achieve / exceed sales targets
- Identify new market opportunities and trends in energy supply markets, to adjust the commercial strategy in a timely manner.
Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with large energy consumers, businesses, and key stakeholders.
- Negotiate and structure Energy Supply Agreements that meet the needs of clients.
In House Relationship Management:
- Legal Affairs Team for structuring of ESAs (in particular with the aim to develop a standardized commercial agreement for sales)
- Engineering and Strategic Procurement Teams for sales which require customized engineering solutions
- Development and Transaction Teams for the procurement of
- Trading Desk Team and Asset Portfolio Planning Team for energy supply planning
Business Development, Market Analysis and Pricing:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the energy market.
- Develop a pipeline of potential clients and follow-up progress in a timely manner.
- Monitor power market trends and price movements to help clients designing competitive procurement strategies.
- Collaborate with the trading desk and risk management teams to structure and price adequate supply products.
Regulatory and Compliance:
- Stay updated on industry regulations and ensure compliance in all sales processes.
- Work with legal and regulatory teams to navigate changes in market rules and policies.
Team Development:
- Train, mentor, and develop the sales team to enhance their performance and industry knowledge.
- Foster a collaborative and results-driven culture within the team.
Qualifications and
Experience:
- More than 5 years’ experience within the business development field.
- 3-5 Years’ experience in a Sales or Business Development role.
- Proven track record of sales success.
- Ability to build relationships and close deals.
- Excellent business acumen and the ability to partner with stakeholders.
